Daan Jippe,, erh,, Danier's second Havank book is out and is BEAUTIFUL!! Along with the regular size version, Daan-ier also made a giant size album with a "making of" chapter and ALL of his rough pages!!!

This is my work on Asterix and the Vikings. I was lucky to get 2 complete sequences to myself, unfortunately the work arrived just as we were moving from Florida to Brazil, which was one of the most stressful periods of my life, and I was never able to focus and spend the time on the work it needed. I wish I had been able to do a better job than I did, there are some pretty pathetic scenes in there, but there are at least 2 scenes I'm quite pleased with.

This is the measly little amount of work I managed to do on Enchanted. I was only brought on for the last month or so of the production, unfortunately, because it was one of my favorite films to work on and I would have loved to do a lot more.

My Disney Reels

Sorry for the long absence, we've been very busy the last half year, unfortunately not on anything very nice.

These are most of the work I did in my time at Disney ( sad but true ), some of it I'm very proud of, and some of it not so much.
I don't have any of my line tests from Mulan but that's probably for the best.
I felt, towards the end before they closed the Disney studio, like I was finally starting to get the hang of it, and I dream about getting back to that one day.

Most of the work is mine, but there are some scenes here and there I shared with other animators, and even a couple of Kenai scenes ( when he grabs the spear and turns around as the bear attacks ) that are NOT MINE, and only there for continuity.

Oooold straight ahead animation

One Friday night 14 years ago, in the studio in Denmark, my friend Christian Kuntz and I decided we were going to animate a hip hop type test. Christian found a song that had a male and female voice and we began animating, no x-sheet, no nothing, just the song on the CD. I had such a great time I stayed that night animating and the next night too. Sunday evening I shot the scene but by then I was alone in the studio and had no one to show it too.

This is an early development piece. At the time I was having a hard time imagining Tiger as a young boy, I kept wanting to draw him older and more sophisticated and classy with the white glove and everything.
The BG, as you can probably tell, was done by the great Hans Bacher, who was on the project for a few weeks in the beginning.

I don't think I'll get around to putting these up on the website any time soon,,, so I'm posting them here for now.
they are some examples of my work on American Dog before it got reworked into Bolt. They are not my designs ( I'm not sure who designed them,, exept for the girl, who is Chris Sanderseses's ). I was asked to develop the characters for the 3D artists,,, give them some different poses and attitudes to work from,,, including hundreds of drawings of hands and feet for each character,,, well, maybe not hundreds,, but lots!!

I did this one a coupla months back to the 11 Second Club's Searching for Bobby Fischer dialog.
To animate straight ahead on 2's you have to be patient and calm, especially animating in Flash, and I managed to keep relatively calm until the end, when I suddenly couldn't wait to finish and ended up roughing the last bit out quickly, thinking that I'd get back to it when I had more time,,, it's now 3 months later and I don't think I'll ever finish it,, but,,, if I do, I'll post it here.

We'd like to apologize to those of you who may have come here in search of "Stuff".
In hindsight it was probably premature and optimistic to include "Stuff" in the title. In our defense, we did have every intention of posting "Stuff" in between and around the Flipbooks, we just haven't come across any post-able "Stuff" yet, or indeed determined what "Stuff" is.
I suppose we meant to leave it open, so to speak, in case we want to branch out, or we run out of Flipbooks, or worse, Flipbooks suddenly become unfashionable,, again.
But I'm told the internet is full of "Stuff", so if it is "Stuff" you want, I believe the "next blog>>" option at the top of the page will get you well on your way.
